KUALA TERENGGANU (30 May 2008) – Selangor and Kedah became the first two teams to qualify for the SUKMA football quarter-finals after registering their second successive win in Group B today.
They were joined by Johor from Group C when the southern state beat Sarawak 2-1 at the Gong Badak Sports Complex Padang B for their second win.

KUALA TERENGGANU (29 May 2008) – The excitement over the SUKMA reached a new height today as Terengganu remain engrossed with striking their first gold in Malaysia’s biggest sports carnival. State Executive councillor for Youth and Sports, Datuk Abdul Rahin Mohd Said said the first gold for Terengganu could come from cycling - either in the women’s 24km or the men’s 36km cross-country.

And its is because of that familiarity that Terengganu’s pencak silat team is counting on their Puteri Ganda pair of Kamilah Sulong, 23 and Maslinda Zakaria, 22 to continue with their winning ways as they gun for a 4-4-6 tally in the 12th SUKMA which begin here on May 31.

KUALA TERENGGANU (21 May 2008) – It was heartbreak for Perak at the last SUKMA in Kedah two years despite a 4-1-2 tally as it was not good enough to become the overall tenpin bowling champions – beaten by Sabah who won five golds.
This time around in the 12th edition of the SUKMA, Perak have come well armed and well prepared to wrest the overall title.

GUNTALI SISTERS TO POWER JOHOR WEIGHTLIFTERS

KUALA TERENGGANU (20 May 2008) – Southerners Johor will make their debut in women's weightlifting in the 12th edition of the SUKMA and their hopes lie with the Guntali sisters - El Yone, 17 and El Yonenica, 13.
If the name Guntali sounds familiar, it is because their father is none other than former international and current national coach Matin Guntali.

35 GOLDS FOR TOP FIVE TARGET FOR TERENGGANU |

KUALA TERENGGANU (19 May 2008) – Hosts Terengganu are chasing to be among the top five in the 12th edition of the SUKMA which will be held from May 31 – June 9, 2008.
Rosdi Awang, the director for the Terengganu State Sports Council, said that the target is a modest one considering that the state finished 11th overall at the last SUKMA in Kedah with just 15 gold medals.
